14 year old girl from Parwanoo raped in City Beautiful
A 14-year-old girl, who had come to the city from Parwanoo, Himachal Pradesh along with her friend, was allegedly gang raped in the city. Her friend and three other youths are among the accused in the rape case. A case has been registered at the sector 34 police station by the Chandigarh Police and one of the accused has been arrested. Sources said the victim told the police that she had come from Parwanoo in Himachal Pradesh four days ago along with her friend. The sources said the other three accused had been identified by the police and efforts were being made to arrest them. A case of gang rape and under Sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered. The medical examination of the victim was conducted at a government hospital and her statement recorded under Section 164 of the CrPC. The victim has been kept at Ashiana, a children’s home, in Sector 15. The SHO of the Parwanoo police station, Inspector Kamal Chandel, said there was no report of a minor girl missing from the area under the Parwanoo police station. -PTC News
