Government should not allow civil secretariat to be used as Congress Bhawan : SAD
Chandigarh, June 12 : The Shiromani Akali Dal again took a serious notice of the statement of issued by PPCC Chief Mr. Sunil Jakhar on the issue of obnoxious advertisements on the LEDs installed in heritage street in Amritsar. In a statement released here today, the SAD Secretary and Spokesman Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said here today that from the contents of the statement of the Congress state Chief it has become abundantly clear that reporting on the government's confidential files are reaching the Congress Bhawan where they are being politically used after manipulation. He said that government must understand its constitutions responsibility and should not allow the party to use Punjab Civil Secretariat as the Congress Bhawan. Dr. Cheema said that previously also a grave illegality was committed when the head of any political party shared an official meeting of the Chief Minister with the Deputy Commissioners. The SAD Spokesman reiterated that devotees coming to Shri Darbar Sahib do not want any objectionable advertisement on the LEDs and the SAD fully supports their view. Dr Cheema also said that as regards the issue of finalization of tenders for the LEDs, the government is at liberty to do conduct any enquiry from whichever agency it desires to do. He said that Shiromani Akali Dal leadership is not afraid of any enquiry, but the party urged the Congress leaders not to issue veiled threats to suppress the genuine voices against the blunders of the government. —PTC News
