Japanese PM Shinzo will inaugurate bullet train project in Ahmedabad: Updates

The Japanese PM Shinzo Abe will inaugurate Narendra Modi's ambitious of Rs 1.08 lakh crore ($17 billion) Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project. For his grand welcome, the twin cities of Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar are decked up with streets shimmering in fluorescent lights, and hoardings and banners dotting them. Security arrangements have been put in place for the 12th Indo-Japan Summit and business meet where Japanese companies are likely to announce major investments in Gujarat. Other than Russia, Japan is the only country with which India has such an annual summit mechanism. Updates on Shinzo's arrival and ceremonies in Ahmedabad - Japan PM, his wife and PM Modi pay respects to Mahatma Gandhi's statue at Sabarmati Ashram, the place from where Gandhi led the Dandi march, also known as the Salt Satyagraha in 1930.
