15 dead in terror attack at  Dusit D2 compound, Kenya Fifteen people including a US citizen were killed and several others were injured in a terror attack on Dusit D2 compound (a cluster of shops and hotel facilities) on Tuesday in Kenya. It is a coordinated high profiled terror attack by armed gunmen. The attack began at a bank inside the compound on Tuesday afternoon. After the attack, the militants targeted three vehicles in the parking lot. Also, there was heavy gunfire at the compound. Kenyan anti-terror units, security forces and ambulances rushed to the spot. They started evacuating people and rushed the injured people to a nearby hospital. An evacuation of a Nairobi hotel complex is still undergoing. The Somali Islamist militant group Al-Shabaab has claimed the responsibility of this terror attack. International response The United States Ambassador to Kenya, Bob Godec, has condemned the attack and has offered US’s assistance. He also confirmed that everyone at the embassy was safe. He released a statement saying that UN stands in unity with the people and government of Kenya.
