5 pair of chopped hands found in Odisha
Nearly 10 chopped hands were found in Kalinga Nagar area, Odisha on Sunday. The police suspected that these hands to be of tribal people who were killed in 2006 police firing. According to the police, in January 2006, the thirteen tribal people were killed during a protest against land acquisition for the steel plant.

Police had found five pairs of chopped hands. They were preserved in a medical box in a club near the site. According to the media reports, some miscreants broke the club’s window and entered the building. They took away the box and dumped the same in the area.
After getting information, the heavy police force has been deployed in the area to maintain peace and vigil. When doctors conducted the post-mortem of the dead tribal people back in 2006, they had to cut off the hands of the five victims to obtain their fingerprints to identify them.

When they found the families, doctors tried handed over the hands to the deceased tribal’s families. But the families refused to accept them. They demanded a DNA test. That was why; they were preserved in the medical box.
