Actor Pankaj Tripathi named as National Icon of Election Commission

Chandigarh, October 3: The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced on Monday that ‘Mirzapur’ actor Pankaj Tripathi will become its national icon.

Notably, in 2018, he was declared the ‘State Icon’ of Bihar.

Meanwhile, The Election Commission of India (ECI) took to their Twitter handle to declare its National icon and wrote, “ECI launches Radio series - #MatdataJunction in collaboration with @AkashvaniAIR for voter awareness. Actor & State Icon Shri @TripathiiPankaj declared ECI’s National Icon.”

While speaking to All India Radio, Pankaj Tripathi said that he was thankful to the ECI for naming him the National Icon

Tripathi said that Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar asked him about the same. In the meanwhile, the formalities were yet to be completed via exchange of emails.

He further said that he will try his best to fulfill his responsibility with full commitment and dedication.

Pankaj Tripathi, who hails from Bihar, is famous for his acting skills in OTT series and movies.
