Punjab School Reopen: The Schools in Punjab have reopened on Monday, after remaining closed for months in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Only doubt clarification classes for standard 9-12 are being allowed while the online classes by the schools will continue.
Punjab Education Department on Thursday announced the date for the reopening of schools in Punjab. The schools, outside the containment zones, have been allowed to reopen from October 19.

The students can attend the classes online if they prefer to stay at home and not attend the school physically. Also, the students volunteering to attend the school have to bring the written consent of parents.

Meanwhile, the Principal of Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Ludhiana, said that "Students of only class 9-12 can come to clear their doubts. We've allotted 8-11 am slot to class 9 and 10 and 12-3 pm slot to classes 11 and 12."
"We have written consent of 110 students, for the same. All COVID-19 norms are being followed," he added.
The order regarding the 'Punjab school reopen' clearly stated that there is no compulsion on students to attend the schools.
Vijay Inder Singla cancelled NOCs of 9 schools for defying instructions
The education minister Vijay Inder Singla has cancelled ‘No Objection Certificates (NOCs)’ given to 9 private schools of various districts for violating government instructions during the Covid-19 pandemic.
List of 9 private schools whose NOCs have been cancelled:
- Delhi Public School and Devindra International School were from the Amritsar district.
- Guru Nanak Public School Sarabha Nagar, DAV Public School Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, and Amrit Indo-Canadian Academy Ladian Khurd were from Ludhiana.
- Baalak Yesu Convent School village Phatak Majra Fatehgarh Sahib
- Rayat Bahra International School Hoshiarpur
- Indo Swiss International Convent School Jalandhar
- The Vibgyor School Ramgarh Bhunder Road Bathinda
