BJP candidate Stanzin Chosphel wins by-election from Martselang Constituency of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Stanzin Chosphel has won the by-election from Martselang Constituency of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh (Ladakh), on Monday. Voting took place on September 19.

The Congress supported independent candidates on this seat. There are 4,293 voters in the Martselang Constituency, including 2,004 women. This is the first election held in this region after the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir was declared Union Territory with a Legislative Assembly, while Ladakh was declared Union Territory without Legislature. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won elections on Martselang Constituency, in Leh (Ladakh).
