BSF troops thwarted an infiltration bid. An intruder has been killed along the International Border in Jammu district.
Troops saw movement of two-three persons along the IB near Nikowal Border Out Post (BoP) in Arnia sector in the early morning.
Ram Avtar IG BSF, Jammu frontier told the intruders challenged and opened fire that resulted in death of one intruder in cross firing. The deceased was in its thirties whereas the other intruders managed to flee, he added. The force also destroyed two Pakistani posts in retaliation to the killing of its jawan in uncalled firing.
Two Pakistani mortar positions were located, targeted and destroyed by BSF troopers yesterday night only, a spokesman said. Whereas , a jawan was killed in unprovoked firing by Pakistan in Samba sector of Jammu.
