CBSE board exams 2021 should be held online or cancelled: Priyanka Gandhi

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday said that the upcoming CBSE board exams 2021 should either be cancelled or postponed in the wake of rising coronavirus.

"It is downright irresponsible of boards like the CBSE to force students to sit for exams under the prevailing circumstances. Board exams should either be cancelled, rescheduled or arranged in a manner that does not require the physical presence of children at crowded exam centres," tweeted Priyanka Gandhi on CBSE board exams 2021.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that the upcoming CBSE board exams 2021 should either be cancelled or postponed in the wake of rising coronavirus.

She further said that "While coronavirus is ravaging our country again, the added pressure of exams is bound to affect the mental health of children."

"Our education system needs to drastically alter its attitude and start reflecting sensitivity and compassion towards children rather than just talk about it at their conclaves and conferences," she added.

Priyanka's statement came after lakhs of students said that the upcoming exams should be either cancelled or conducted online.

Amid demands over the cancellation of exams, the CBSE stated the exams will be held as per the schedule from May 4

Also, several students said that they were hoping for a statement regarding the conduct of exams online from Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the Parkisha Pe Charcha 2021.
