Chandigarh girl students perform Bhangra after Telangana Police kill four accused in rape and murder case

Girl students in Chandigarh lauded Telangana police for killing four accused in the rape and murder case of a veterinary doctor in an encounter on Friday morning. When the police brought the accused to the crime scene as part of the investigation, they allegedly attacked the police with sticks, snatched their weapons and opened fire.

Police officials said they asked them to surrender but they continued to shoot. At this, police officials said they opened retaliatory fire and killed the accused.

Two policemen were injured in the encounter and were rushed to hospital. Police also seized two weapons from the accused, whose bodies have been shifted to the local government hospital for postmortem. Cyberabad CP, V C Sajjanar said, "I can only say that law has done its duty." He said they would “answer to whoever takes cognizance, the state govt, NHRC, to all concerned.”

Meanwhile, BJP MP Gautam Gambhir said, “The judicial system needs to be reformed. Verdict of fast track court should be final and there should be no further appeals or mercy petitions for death penalty. If they (accused in veterinarian rape and murder case) were trying to escape, then I stand with the police.”
