Diljit Dosanjh wins hearts in Italy after gracefully correcting fan’s Sikh symbol mistake | Watch

PTC Web Desk:  Diljit Dosanjh has once again impressed fans with his calm and respectful nature. The Punjabi singer and actor recently handled an innocent mistake by an international fan during his concert in Italy.

During the show, Diljit invited a fan and a female companion onto the stage. The fan was wearing a customised white T-shirt that had the Ik Onkar symbol along with Diljit’s name.

Diljit noticed the design and gently pointed it out. He placed his hand over the T-shirt while explaining why the sacred symbol should not be used alongside his name.

“This is God... This is very special... and my name together, no, no,” Diljit said in English.

Diljit explains meaning of Ik Onkar

Rather than embarrassing the fan, Diljit Dosanjh calmly explained the importance of the symbol. He made it clear that Ik Onkar is sacred and represents the divine, and therefore should be kept separate from his name.

The fan appeared to have no wrong intention and had likely designed the T-shirt as a gesture of admiration for the singer. Diljit understood that immediately.

Singer asks fans to forgive him

Diljit then turned towards the audience and spoke in Punjabi, asking them to understand that the fan did not know about the sensitivity surrounding the design.

“I respect your feelings. Inhe pata nahi, maaf kar do please,” he said, asking people to forgive the fan because he was unaware.

Diljit then added, “But I respect you... Ek Onkar, mere walon saare ek ne,” expressing his belief that everyone is equal.

Fans praise Diljit’s graceful response

A video of the moment has been circulating online, with many viewers praising Diljit for the way he handled the situation.

Instead of reacting harshly, the singer used the moment to explain the significance of the sacred symbol while also making sure the fan did not feel insulted or humiliated.
