Saif Ali Khan jokes he’s been attending the same school’s PTA meetings since he was 20
PTC Web Desk: Saif Ali Khan has been going to parent-teacher meetings for decades, and he’s not shy about joking over it. Appearing with wife Kareena Kapoor Khan on The Great Indian Kapil Show, the actor said he first sat through a PTA meeting at 20. Now 55, he still turns up at the same school. The only thing that has changed, he said, is the teachers.
'I am still the same'
Kapil Sharma asked which parent handled the school meetings. Saif replied that he has four children in that school, all at different ages.
“When I was 20 years old, I had my first PTA meeting. Then I was 30. I am still standing in the same school at 55,” he said. “The teachers have changed. I am still the same.”
Kapil quipped that it’s a blessing Saif has a child every decade. Kareena jumped in with her own question: “What’s the plan now?”
Co-host Archana Puran Singh added that another decade is about to begin. Kareena didn’t miss a beat. “Yes, we are, but not with me,” she said. Saif laughed sheepishly as the studio audience burst out laughing.
The ghee secret
Kapil also asked how the couple stays “forever young and fresh” after 14 years of marriage. Saif’s answer was ghee. Kareena added that everyone at home eats it.
Saif then revealed another habit: Kareena rubs ghee on her feet before bed. “She doesn’t only eat it but even rubs it on her feet at night,” he said. Kareena replied that it works wonders.
Saif joked about the side effects too: “Such a romantic moment and our bedroom smells like a dhaba at night.” Kapil kept the laughs going by teasing Archana about reusing the ghee on her chapatis.
Saif and Kareena’s journey
The two first worked together in LOC: Kargil (2003) and Omkara (2006). Romance bloomed on the sets of Tashan (2008). They later shared the screen in Kurbaan (2009) and Agent Vinod (2012).
After about five years together, they married on October 16, 2012, in a private ceremony at Saif’s Bandra home in Mumbai. They are parents to Taimur (born December 2016) and Jehangir, or Jeh (born February 2021).
Saif’s older children, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan, are from his earlier marriage to actor Amrita Singh. They married in 1991 and separated in 2004. Sara debuted in 2018 and is now an established name in Hindi cinema. Ibrahim appeared in Nadaaniyan and Sarzameen in 2025 and has yet to announce his next project.
What’s next for the couple

Saif recently appeared in Priyadarshan’s psychological thriller Haiwaan with Akshay Kumar, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Boman Irani and Saiyami Kher.
