Vivek Agnihotri and Bhushan Kumar announce ‘Operation Sindoor’, film on India’s strategic strikes

Filmmaker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and producer Bhushan Kumar have joined forces for an ambitious new project titled Operation Sindoor, a film inspired by one of India’s most significant recent military operations.

The film will be directed by Agnihotri and produced under the banners of T-Series and I Am Buddha Productions, marking a notable collaboration between the two. Known for his work on films rooted in real events, Agnihotri is expected to bring a research-driven and intense narrative style to the project.

Operation Sindoor draws its inspiration from India’s targeted military strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. These operations were carried out in response to the devastating terror attack in Pahalgam in 2025, which claimed the lives of several civilians, many of them tourists. The film aims to explore not only the strategic depth of the operation but also the emotional and national impact of the events that led to it.

The story is adapted from the book Operation Sindoor: The Untold Story of India’s Deep Strikes Inside Pakistan by retired Lieutenant General K.J.S. Dhillon.
