The cyber police in Pune city, Maharashtra, have lodged an FIR against Bollywood actor Payal Rohatgi for allegedly creating a defamatory video on the Nehru-Gandhi family and circulating it on social media, as per reports.
A complaint against her was lodged by a local Congress leader, following which the cyber police on Tuesday registered a case against Bollywood actor Payal Rohatgi under Sections 153, 500, 505 (2) of the IPC.

The complaint states that the actor along with an unidentified person allegedly created a defamatory video about Mahatma Gandhi, former Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi and other members of the Gandhi family and circulated it on social media.
Congress leader Sangita Tiwari and office-bearers of the party's Pune city unit approached the police and sought immediate registration of a case against her.
The Bollywood actor is known for posting controversial pots. In 2019, the former 'Bigg Boss' participant was detained by the Rajasthan Police for a video in which she used derogatory language for the Nehru-Gandhi family, including Motilal Nehru, Jawaharlal Nehru, and others. She was booked under the Information Technology (IT) Act for the objectionable content. The actor was later granted bail.
