Madhya Pradesh: IAF MiG-21 trainer jet crashes near Gwalior airbase, pilots eject safely

Madhya Pradesh: An Indian Air Force MiG-21 Type-69 Trainer aircraft crashed near Gwalior on Wednesday. As per reports, the aircraft was on a routine mission and was airborne from Air Force Station Gwalior.

The aircraft crashed at approximate distance of 6 NM while on approach for landing. Meanwhile, both the pilots ejected safely and were picked up by the rescue Helicopter. However, a Court of Inquiry has been ordered to investigate the cause of accident.

The news agency ANI reported that "MiG 21 Trainer aircraft of the Indian Air Force crashed in Gwalior. Both the pilots, including a Group Captain and a squadron leader, managed to eject safely."
