Madhya Pradesh: Officer summoned by CBI in Bofor Case found dead

An officer who was summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the Bofor case was found dead in a drain on Tuesday. The Junior Works Manager (JWM) of Guns Carriage Factory (GCF) was summoned by the CBI in connection with the alleged supply of Chinese spare parts for production of indigenized Bofor guns used by the Army. The deceased has been identified as SC Kathua (45).

According to media reports, he was missing since January 17. The body was found in a factory area behind Section 2 region of GCF. A blood-stained blade was also found near the body. The body was severely damaged. Police has sent the body for post-mortem. The family of the deceased suspected a murder.

On January 18, the wife of the deceased, Mausami Kathua filed a missing report in Jabalpur.  In July 2017, CBI has booked GCF for selling fake Chinese spare parts to the ordnance factory, which come under the production department of the Defence Ministry.
