A blame game between Haryana and Punjab government has triggered as Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Thursday held the Punjab Police responsible for delaying information on Honeypreet Insan.

"There is something fishy about this," said Khattar.

Khattar said Punjab police should have informed the Haryana Police about her whereabouts earlier.

Honeypreet had surrendered in Punjab on Tuesday morning, following which the Punjab police handed over her custody to the Haryana Police as per sources.

Haryana Police denied the reports and said it was them who had rounded up Honeypreet.  "It was the SIT team of Haryana Police that rounded up Honeypreet Insan from Punjab. It was indicated to the Punjab Police as per the SoP," Panchkula police commissioner said.

Honeypreet was remanded to police custody for six days by a court in Panchkula on Wednesday. She has been charged under sections 151, 152, 153, 120B (criminal conspiracy) and 121B (waging or attempting wage war against Govt of India) in connection with the deadly violence which followed the Gurmeet's conviction on 25 August and is seeking remand for further investigation.
