2 die as retired soldier opens fire on his own family members in MP

Madhya Pradesh, September 1: A 52-year-old retired soldier opened fire on his own family members, killing two and one sustained injuries in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district, an official said.

On Friday, an incident occurred in Lalepur village, which is under the jurisdiction of the Sanaudha police station in the district. Ramadhar Tiwari has been identified as the accused. The accused's brother Rammilan Tiwari (60) and nephew Ajju Tiwari (35) were killed, while his own daughter Varsha Tiwari (24) was injured and is being treated.

“An incident under Sanaudha police station came to light on Friday morning where a man opened fire on his own family members. On getting the information, the police immediately rushed to the spot. In the incident, two persons died and a girl sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment,” SP Abhishek Tiwari added.

The accused was apprehended, and the weapon used in the incident was also recovered. He stated that further investigation into the matter is underway.

When asked about the incident's cause, the officer stated that it was under investigation. The accused was being interrogated at the time, and further probe would be done.
