In a tragic and spine-chilling incident, a 20-year-old woman named Anjali Ambigera brutally stabbed to death by her 21-year-old neighbour Girish Sawant, after she reportedly rejected his advances.
The harrowing incident unfolded in Veerapura Lane in Hubballi.
The incident unfolded when Ambigera was asleep and Sawant entered her residence and allegedly stabbed her repeatedly with a knife. Sawant is currently evading authorities, and law enforcement is actively searching for him.
As per the sources, it has been learnt that Girish pressured Anjali to enter into a relationship with him, but she consistently declined his advances. This rejection reportedly served as the catalyst for the violent attack.
Police visited the victim's residence and discovered her body.
Registering the case into the tragic incident, Gopal Byakod, SP Hubballi Dharwad said, “The murder of a girl named Anjali has been reported within the jurisdiction near Veerpurra Oni Village. An assailant stabbed her to death this morning inside their house.”
Meanwhile, a team has been formed to trace the accused who is current absconding
