Emergency landing of Air India flight at Jaipur airport due to cargo door alert

According to sources, the pilot received an alert indicating that the cargo door was potentially open after takeoff

PTC Web Desk: An Air India flight, AI-612, was forced to make an emergency landing at Jaipur airport on Friday after experiencing a technical issue shortly after takeoff. The flight, which had departed from Jaipur en route to Mumbai, encountered a problem just 18 minutes into the flight, prompting the pilot to request permission for an emergency landing.

According to sources, the pilot received an alert indicating that the cargo door was potentially open after takeoff. In response, the pilot contacted Air Traffic Control and requested clearance to return to Jaipur for an emergency landing. The aircraft landed safely at Jaipur Airport shortly after.

The flight, originally scheduled to depart at 1.35 pm, was delayed by 23 minutes before taking off. It was en route to Mumbai when the technical issue was detected.

At present, the technical team at Jaipur airport is conducting an investigation into the situation, although Air India has not officially commented on the incident.
