Army personnel, son assaulted in South Delhi over objecting to drinking at public place

The incident unfolded after an argument broke out after Brigadier Parminder Singh Arora stopped the men from drinking in a public place.

PTC News Desk: A serving Army Brigadier and his son were allegedly assaulted by a group of men in South Delhi's Vasant Enclave late Saturday night after they objected to two individuals consuming alcohol in a parked car. 


The incident unfolded after an argument broke out after Brigadier Parminder Singh Arora stopped the men from drinking in a public place.


The situation escalated subsequently after both the men called for reinforcements and seven to eight associates arrived in multiple vehicles and launched an assault on the Brigadier's son, inflicting significant injuries and also manhandled the Brigadier. 



"The authorities in the Indian Army have taken serious cognizance of the case. A Military Police team has been directed to assist the officer. The Delhi Police has been approached for an expeditious investigation and to take action on priority," the Army said in a statement.
