PTC Web Desk: In a heartbreaking incident in Bengaluru, a 29-year-old software professional died by suicide shortly after her 11-month-old son accidentally drowned at their home.
The woman, Pratibha, was alone with her child while her husband was at work. She had briefly gone to the terrace to collect clothes. During that time, the baby is believed to have crawled into the washing area and fallen into a bucket filled with water. When she returned, she found her child unresponsive in the bucket.
Deeply shocked and unable to cope with the loss, Pratibha took the extreme step. The police said she consumed tablets, slit her wrist and later died by hanging.
In the evening, her husband returned home and found the door locked from inside. He entered using a spare key and discovered both his wife and child dead.
The police recovered a suicide note in which Pratibha held herself responsible for the incident. A case has been registered.
