Bihar horror: Canteen guard arrested for sexually assaulting, killing five-year-old boy

PTC News Desk: In a horrifying incident, Bihar police have arrested a canteen guard for sexully assaulting and killing a five-year-old boy in Jehanabad district, days after the child was found with his throat slit, officials said on Sunday.


The incident took place a private school hostel on April 6. 


The child was initially taken to a local hospital by family members and later referred to Patna, where doctors declared him dead.

Senior police officer Aprajit Lohan said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate the case because of its seriousness. During the initial probe, hostel operator Tarun Kumar, also known as Gandhi, was taken in for questioning and later sent to jail.


Police said the post-mortem report confirmed that the child was sexually assaulted before being murdered. CCTV footage from the hostel also showed the accused acting suspiciously around the time of the incident, which supports the case.


During questioning, the accused reportedly told police that he was living alone after his wife left him and was mentally stressed. He also claimed he had conflicts with the hostel operator and wanted to damage the hostel’s reputation and get it shut down, which he said was the reason behind the crime.
