Bomb threat emails sent to schools in Punjab, Noida and Ahmedabad; students sent home as precaution
In Punjab’s Gurdaspur district, three schools — Gurdaspur Public School, Trinity Public School and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya — received threat emails
PTC Web Desk: Several schools in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat were put on high alert on Friday after receiving bomb threat emails, prompting authorities to take immediate security measures and send students home as a precaution.
In Punjab’s Gurdaspur district, three schools — Gurdaspur Public School, Trinity Public School and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya — received threat emails. In a separate incident, Jiya Lal Mittal School, located on the Gurdaspur–Kalanaur Road, was also threatened via email. The message warned that the school would be blown up by 1 pm.
Following the threat, school authorities declared a holiday and ensured that students were safely escorted back to their homes. Police teams rushed to the schools and began security checks.
Similar threats were reported from Noida, where Shiv Nadar School and Father Agnel School received bomb threat emails. Security personnel were immediately deployed to both campuses, with bomb disposal squads and dog squads carrying out thorough inspections. Shiv Nadar School arranged buses to safely drop students at designated points and advised parents to remain in contact with transport staff.
Authorities in Noida said the situation remains under control and appealed to the public not to spread or believe rumours.
In Ahmedabad, several private schools also received bomb threat emails, leading school administrations to inform the police. Bomb squads, fire brigade teams and local police carried out searches at the affected campuses.
The threats come just days ahead of Republic Day celebrations, raising concerns among parents and school authorities. Officials across states said investigations are underway, and security has been tightened to ensure the safety of students and staff.
