PTC Web Desk: An Air India pilot died in Bali on Wednesday after reportedly suffering a heart attack while on scheduled rest.

The first officer, around 40 years old, had flown from Delhi to Bali a day earlier, an airline official said. After completing the flight, he was resting at his hotel when he began experiencing severe discomfort.

According to a statement issued by the airline, he was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors confirmed that he had suffered a heart attack. Despite medical efforts, he could not be revived.

The airline expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing it as a tragic incident involving one of its cockpit crew members.

Officials added that the pilot had recently undergone all required medical checks as per regulations, and no prior health issues had been reported. He was also operating within the prescribed flying-hour limits set by aviation authorities.

More details about the incident are awaited.
