Fresh bomb threats to schools in Gurugram and Patiala spark panic
Bomb threats to schools: School campuses in multiple regions faced fresh security scares on Wednesday after a series of bomb threat emails triggered panic among parents and authorities.
In Gurugram, at least 10 schools reported receiving threatening emails early in the morning, prompting immediate evacuation measures. Among those targeted were Shri Ram School, Amity International School and The HDFC School, where emails reportedly arrived around 8:33 am, just as students had begun entering classrooms.
School administrations swiftly activated emergency protocols, sending urgent messages to parents and suspending classes for the day. Concerned families rushed to campuses, leading to heavy gatherings outside school gates. Police teams, along with bomb disposal squads, conducted thorough searches across the premises. A senior police official confirmed that multiple institutions had approached authorities and that investigations were underway.
Meanwhile, a similar pattern of threats continues to unsettle Punjab. In Patiala, Shivalik Public School received a bomb threat via email, intensifying concerns over student safety in the region. The incident comes amid a series of recent warnings targeting schools and government offices across the state.
Adding to the unease, a blast was reported on the Rajpura railway track just a day earlier, further heightening alert levels among security agencies. Although no immediate link has been officially established between the incidents, authorities are treating the threats with utmost seriousness.
Police officials in both Haryana and Punjab are working to trace the origin of these emails while urging the public to remain calm and vigilant. Educational institutions have also been advised to review and strengthen their safety protocols.
