PTC Web Desk: In light of escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, a mock drill will be conducted in Chandigarh on May 7, from 7.30 pm to 7.40 pm. During the drill, sirens will sound and a temporary blackout will take place as part of the emergency preparedness exercise.
Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav reassured the public that there is no need for panic, adding that this drill is a routine practice. The sirens will be tested to ensure immediate functionality in case of any emergency. Residents have been advised to stay indoors and avoid using lights, inverters, or generators during this time.
The police administration will be present throughout the city to ensure safety and order, and there is no cause for concern, the Deputy Commissioner added.
