PTC News Desk: A court in Delhi on Monday extended Manish Sisodia's judicial custody in a money laundering case connected to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam till January 10, 2024.

Manish Sisodia and other accused were also asked to respond to an application made by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) requesting permission to file more documents in the case by Special Judge M K Nagpal.

The court also ordered the ED to provide the accused with a hard copy of the 540 pages of additional documents by the next hearing on January 10.

During the hearings, the judge also deferred the hearing on the ED's application for a day-to-day hearing in the matter.

The judge stated that the case is now at the stage of document scrutiny and that the trial will start once this stage is completed and charges against the accused persons are filed.

"The application shall be taken up at the relevant time," the court stated.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) detained Manish Sisodia on February 26 for his suspected role in corruption in the formation and implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy 2020-21. Since then, the AAP leader has been in custody.
