Delhi Red Fort car blast: Suicide bombers aide Amir Rashid Ali sent to 10-day NIA custody
Amir is suspected of assisting in the execution of the blast, which claimed at least 13 lives and left several others injured
PTC Web Desk: Accused Amir Rashid Ali, who was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday in the Delhi Red Fort car blast case, has been sent to 10-day NIA custody.
A major breakthrough has emerged in the Red Fort car blast investigation with the arrest of Amir Rashid Ali, a resident of Kashmir who is believed to have had a close association with the suicide bomber behind the deadly explosion.
According to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Amir is suspected of assisting in the execution of the blast, which claimed at least 13 lives and left several others injured. Investigators say his connection with Dr Umar Nabi, the suicide bomber who carried out the attack, makes Amir a central figure in uncovering the larger conspiracy and planning behind the incident.
The court has now sent Amir Rashid Ali to 10-day NIA custody after the agency formally requested the remand to continue its probe.
Officials confirmed that the white i20 car used in the blast was registered in Amir’s name, further strengthening the suspicion of his direct involvement in the plot.
The NIA added that it is working closely with Delhi Police, Jammu & Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, Uttar Pradesh Police and several other security agencies. The investigation continues across multiple states as the agency follows several leads to uncover the broader conspiracy and identify all individuals connected to the attack.
