PTC News Desk: Delhi is ready to launch its first-ever hot air balloon rides starting November 29, after successful test runs at the Delhi Development Authority’s Baansera Park along the Yamuna riverfront. Lt Governor VK Saxena announced on X that the rides will be operated by a trained and professional team and will follow top-level safety standards. He said the project will help make Delhi more lively and improve its recreational and tourism facilities.

From Saturday, people can enjoy the tethered hot air balloon rides at Baansera Park. Within a few days, the service will also be available at three other DDA spots: Asita riverfront, Yamuna Sports Complex, and the Commonwealth Games Village Sports Complex.

The project is part of a larger plan to develop the Yamuna riverbank and other public areas with new adventure and leisure activities. Each ride will cost ₹3,000 per person and will last about 15–20 minutes. There will be two sessions every day—one in the morning and one in the evening—based on weather conditions. Each basket can carry around four people at a time. Since the balloons are tethered, they stay attached to the ground while rising, making the experience safe and controlled, with wide views of the river and city.

The DDA has hired an experienced, certified operator to run the rides, manage takeoffs, pilot the balloon, and conduct safety checks. Officials said all aviation and safety rules are being followed.
