Tateeree song controversy: Haryana Police initiates process to issue lookout circular against singer Badshah

PTC News Desk: In a significant development, the Haryana Police in major crackdown on spread of offensive content on social media, have taken tough action against singer Aditya Pratik Singh Sisodia, alias Badshah. Panchkula Police have registered an FIR concerning his recently released song/video 'Tateeree' and have begun the process of issuing a Look-Out Circular (LOC) to prevent the accused from leaving the country.

In this regard, a case has been registered at Cyber Police Station Sector-20, Panchkula, under FIR No. 28, dated March 6, 2026, under Section 296 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.

The complainant alleged that the music video, released on Badshah’s official YouTube channel, shows girls wearing school uniforms in a setting that looks like a school called “Badshala”, which is said to be a distorted version of the word “pathshala”. The complaint also stated that some lyrics and scenes in the song are allegedly inappropriate and could send a wrong message to society.

It further claimed that showing such visuals in a school environment could negatively affect children and young viewers and may promote disrespectful behaviour towards girls.

Taking note of the matter, the Haryana State Commission for Women has also intervened. Commission chairperson Renu Bhatia said Badshah has been summoned to appear before the commission on March 13 to explain the meaning and intent behind the song’s lyrics and visuals.

Meanwhile, Mahipal Dhanda said the state government has taken the issue seriously. He criticised the portrayal of schoolgirls in the music video and said such representation of culture is unacceptable.
