Father killed Radhika Yadav over taunts for living off daughters earnings, reveals FIR
The accused Deepak Yadav in his confession told the police that he was significantly troubled by the villager's taunts that he was surviving off his daughter's income and had even heard people questioning her character.
PTC News Desk: In a tragic incident, a promising tennis player Radhika Yadav was shot dead by her father at her residence in Gurugram, Haryana. Radhika who also ran a tennis academy was reportedly cooking when she was shot.
The accused Deepak Yadav in his confession told the police that he was significantly troubled by the villager's taunts that he was surviving off his daughter's income and had even heard people questioning her character.
He also said that he asked Radhika several times to shut down the academy but she refused to do so.
According to the FIR, filed by Radhika's uncle Kuldeep Yadav, Deepak was unsettled with Radhika's decision of running the academy which she continued despite his objections.
The tragic incident took place at 11.30 am on the first floor of their home. According to police officials, Radhika’s father, enraged over a video reel she had shared online, opened fire using his licensed revolver. The accused reportedly fired three rounds. Radhika, known for representing Haryana in several state-level tennis tournaments and hailed as a rising star in the local sports community, was immediately rushed to a private hospital by family members. However, she succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
Earlier, the motive behind Deepak Yadav's drastic step was suggested Radhika's Instagram activity and subsequent conflicts over the reels.
