Filthy abuse, hit with slippers: Rohini Acharyas bombshell over kidney as family feud deepens
Announcing her decision on Saturday, she wrote, “I am leaving politics and severing ties with my family. Sanjay Yadav and Rameez told me to do this, and I am taking all the blame.”
PTC News Desk: RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter, Rohini Acharya—who recently cut ties with her family and announced she was leaving politics, accusing her brother Tejashwi Yadav and his aides—said on Sunday that she was forced out of the family. She claimed she was abused with obscene language and that someone even tried to hit her with a slipper.
A day after the RJD’s heavy defeat in the Bihar assembly elections, Acharya blamed two of Tejashwi’s close associates, Sanjay Yadav and Rameez, for the party’s poor performance. She declared she was “quitting politics” and “disowning” her family.
"Yesterday, a daughter, out of compulsion, left behind her crying parents and sisters and came away; they tore me away from my maternal home... They left me orphaned," she said.
In a second post within minutes, Acharya alleged that she was told she donated a kidney to her father, Lalu Yadav, received crores in return, and even secured Lok Sabha poll tickets through it.
"Yesterday, I was cursed and called ‘dirty,’ accused of having my father receive a kidney transplant from me, taking crores of rupees, buying a ticket, and having that kidney implanted," she wrote.
Acharya, who is a doctor by training, chose homemaking after marriage and lives abroad with her Singapore-based husband. She had contested the Saran Lok Sabha seat last year but lost.
Announcing her decision on Saturday, she wrote, “I am leaving politics and severing ties with my family. Sanjay Yadav and Rameez told me to do this, and I am taking all the blame.”
Sanjay Yadav is an RJD MP, while Rameez, from a political family in Uttar Pradesh, is less known publicly. Both are close to Tejashwi Yadav and have declined to comment.
Later, speaking to reporters, Acharya said, “I no longer have a family. Ask Tejashwi Yadav, Sanjay Yadav, and Rameez—they are the ones who pushed me out. They refuse to take responsibility. The whole country is questioning the party’s defeat. If you even mention the names of Sanjay Yadav and Rameez, you are abused, insulted, and thrown out.”
