PTC Web Desk: In a story that seems straight out of a crime thriller, two inmates convicted in separate murder cases are set to marry in Rajasthan’s Alwar district after being granted emergency parole by the Rajasthan High Court.

Priya Seth, also known as Neha Seth, and her fiancé Hanuman Prasad have been allowed a 15-day emergency parole to solemnise their marriage today in Barodamev, Alwar. Both are currently serving life sentences for heinous crimes but reportedly fell in love while lodged in jail.

Priya Seth, a former model, is serving a life term for the 2018 murder of Dushyant Sharma, a man she met through a dating app. She is currently lodged at the Sanganer Open Jail. According to officials, the two met around six months ago during their incarceration and later decided to get married.

Crime that led to Priya Seth’s conviction

The murder case dates back to May 2018, when she allegedly hatched a plan to kidnap Dushyant Sharma for ransom. Investigators revealed that she had befriended the victim on Tinder and invited him to a flat in Jaipur’s Bajaj Nagar area. The plan was to demand money from Sharma’s family to clear the financial liabilities of her then partner, Dikshant Kamra.

She demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh, out of which Rs 3 lakh was transferred by the victim’s father. However, fearing that Sharma could alert the police if released, she, along with Kamra and another accomplice, Lakshya Walia, allegedly murdered him.

The body was stuffed into a suitcase and dumped in the Aamer hills after multiple stab wounds were inflicted to prevent identification. The trio also cleaned the flat in an attempt to destroy evidence. Sharma’s body was recovered the next night, leading to their arrest and subsequent conviction.

Hanuman Prasad’s five-murder sase

Hanuman Prasad is serving a sentence for one of Alwar’s most brutal murder cases, dating back to October 2, 2017. He was convicted for killing five members of a family — the husband and children of his then girlfriend, Santosh, a taekwondo player who was older than him.

As per the prosecution, Santosh allegedly called Prasad to her home and asked him to kill her husband, Banwari Lal. Prasad arrived with an accomplice and stabbed Lal with a knife typically used for animal slaughter. When Santosh’s three children and a nephew woke up and witnessed the crime, they were also killed to eliminate witnesses.

The massacre shocked Alwar and surrounding regions, becoming one of the most talked-about criminal cases in the district.
