Gender Equality event to honour International Women’s Day organised in collaboration with Max Hospital
The event was ceremonially inaugurated by the female staff members of the college, symbolizing strength, dignity, and the progressive role of women in shaping society.
The Gender Equity and Self Defence Society of PGGC-11 organized an inspiring celebration of International Women’s Day on 10th March in collaboration with Max Hospital. The event aimed to promote women’s empowerment, health awareness, and the importance of gender equality in society. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and guests.
The event was ceremonially inaugurated by the female staff members of the college, symbolizing strength, dignity, and the progressive role of women in shaping society. Their presence set an inspiring tone for the entire programme and highlighted the significance of acknowledging and celebrating the achievements of women in every sphere of life. The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Principal Ms. Deepshika and Ms. Sonia Kumar, whose continuous support and encouragement played an instrumental role in the successful organization of the event.
A distinguished team of ten medical professionals from Max Hospital visited the college to conduct a free medical health camp for students and staff members. The eminent doctors included Dr. Gurjot Singh, Dr. Arbaaz, Dr. D.K. Sharma, Dr. Gaurav Agnihotri, Dr. Surbhi Garv, Dr. Perzada, and other healthcare specialists. They provided free medical check-ups for thyroid, bone density, dental health, eye examinations, and other general health concerns. The medical experts also offered valuable advice regarding preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyle practices.
The event was further enriched by the presence and support of the NGO “Jai Madhusudan Jai Shri Krishna Foundation,” represented by Mr. Prabhu Nath Shahi and Environment Awareness Society "URVI" represented by Ms. Shakha Sharda who appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of collective efforts in promoting women’s welfare and social awareness.
To add a cultural essence to the celebration, students presented beautiful singing performances and meaningful poetry recitations, which created an engaging and vibrant atmosphere. These cultural expressions reflected the theme of women empowerment and highlighted the creative talents of the students.
The programme also included a prize distribution ceremony to honour the winners of the Poster Making Competition and Poem Recitation Competition organized as part of the Women’s Day celebrations. The winners were felicitated with certificates and appreciation for their creativity, expression, and dedication.
The celebration concluded on a positive and inspiring note. The organizers expressed heartfelt gratitude to the medical team from Max Hospital, the NGO representatives, the college administration, and all the participants who contributed to making the event a grand success. The programme successfully conveyed the message of women’s empowerment, health awareness, and social responsibility, leaving everyone inspired to work towards a more equitable and progressive society.
