PTC News Desk: Trouble seems to be mounting for Bollywood singer Sunidhi Chauhan as she has received a notice following complaint by Chandigarh-based professor Dr. Pandit Rao Dharnevar. The notice was issued by the South Goa District Child Protection Unit advising the singer not to perform songs such as “Beedi Jalai Le” or other tracks promoting alcohol or similar themes.

Sunidhi Chauhan is scheduled to perform on January 25, at the 1919 Sports Cricket Stadium in Goa as part of her “The Ultimate Sunidhi Live” concert. Ahead of the event, Dr. Dharnevar filed a complaint urging organizers to avoid playing or performing songs that promote tobacco and alcohol in the presence of children, and sought a preventive advisory.

Following this complaint, the Goa Child Commission has taken a strict stance on the singer’s live concert. The South Goa District Child Protection Unit has issued an advisory to the organizers, directing them not to play or sing such songs.

Dr Dharnevar is also running a campaign across Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh against vulgar, violent, and alcohol-promoting songs. He takes such matters to the police, administration, and courts to ensure restrictions on content that may negatively influence children and youth. His complaint regarding the Goa concert was made with the same objective.

He was also seen holding a poster demanding that FIRs be registered against lyricists, singers, and recording companies responsible for songs promoting weapons, obscenity, and alcohol.
