Haryana Nuh Protest: Two home guards were killed and seven police officers were injured as a mob tried to stop a religious procession by throwing stones and setting cars on fire in Haryana's Nuh. To disperse the mob, police sprayed tear gas and fired shots in the air.

Internet services have been suspended, and prohibitory orders banning big gatherings have been issued.

Over 2000 people rescued

Meanwhile, the police have rescued around 2,500 men, women, and children who sought shelter at a temple near Gurugram owing to the violence outside. Those stranded at the Nulhar Mahadev temple had come to participate in the religious procession.

The rioting began during a religious procession in Nuh, near Gurugram. A mob of young men stopped the Vishwa Hindu Parishad's Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra on the Gurugram-Alwar National Highway and threw stones at the procession.

The mob targeted government and private vehicles as the conflict worsened.

According to sources, violence spread to the Gurugram-Sohna highway in the evening, where numerous cars were set on fire and stones were thrown at police.

Reason behind Nuh violence

According to reports, the clash was triggered by an objectionable video posted on social media by a Bajrang Dal activist.

According to sources, Bajrang Dal member Monu Manesar and his friends, who are accused in several criminal cases, shared the video a few days ago and openly challenged that he would stay in Mewat throughout the yatra.

Many claim to have spotted them during the yatra, and the villagers are said to have retaliated.
