India denies reports of halt in defence talks with US over tariff dispute

PTC Web Desk: India on Friday strongly rejected media claims that it had put a hold on defence procurement discussions with the United States due to ongoing trade tensions.
In an official statement, the Ministry of Defence clarified: “Recent reports suggesting that India has suspended defence-related negotiations with the US are completely baseless and misleading. All procurement processes are moving forward in accordance with established procedures.”
The clarification comes amid escalating trade disagreements between New Delhi and Washington, particularly concerning import tariffs. Despite these tensions, India affirmed that its defence engagements with the US remain unaffected.
