Neighbours raised an alarm
The incident came to light around 10 am on Friday after neighbours and relatives became suspicious when they noticed no activity at the house in Govindpura.
When police reached the spot, Rahul Jha’s 85-year-old father was present at the house.
Teams from the Forensic Science Laboratory and dog squad were called to the scene. Police collected blood samples and other forensic evidence. The brick allegedly used in the attack was also taken into custody for examination.
A large crowd gathered outside the house after news of the killings spread.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) West Prashant Kiran said investigators suspect a family dispute was behind the murders.
“We are now trying to determine what triggered the accused to allegedly carry out the attack,” the officer said.
Police launch manhunt
Special police teams have been formed to arrest Rahul Jha.
Police have also increased checking at entry and exit points across the area and are conducting raids at locations where the accused is suspected to be hiding.
