Panic grips Mandi hospital after bomb threat ahead of PM Modis Himachal visit

A bomb threat sent via email created widespread panic at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College, Nerchowk, in Mandi district, prompting authorities to initiate swift evacuation.

PTC News Desk: A wave of panic gripped Mandi Hospital after receiving email threatening bomb attack on the premises, ahead of PM Modi's scheduled visit today. a bomb threat sent via email created widespread panic at Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College, Nerchowk, in Mandi district, prompting authorities to initiate swift evacuation. 


PM Modi is scheduled to visit Kangra and conduct arial survey to assess the extensive damages caused by the ravaging floods. 


According to Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Balh, Samritika Negi, the medical authorities received a bomb threat mail earlier in the day Acting promptly, they informed the local police and district administration, triggering an immediate emergency response. However no explosive material has been found yet. 


"The safety of patients, their attendants, students, and medical staff was our top priority. As soon as we were alerted, police teams rushed to the scene and evacuated the premises. A thorough search operation is currently in progress," said SDM Negi.


The authenticity of the email has not been ascertained yet and it has been sent to cyber cell for thorough scrutiny.
