IndiGo flight makes emergency landing in Ahmedabad after bomb threat email
PTC Web Desk: An IndiGo aircraft bound for Hyderabad was diverted to Ahmedabad on Thursday after the local authorities received an email warning of a possible bomb on board. The flight landed safely and security teams immediately initiated a full inspection.
According to officials, all passengers were escorted out of the aircraft and screened thoroughly. No passenger was found involved in any suspicious activity during the initial checks. A senior official confirmed that teams from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and a bomb disposal squad carried out an extensive sweep of the aircraft. “Search operations were conducted as per protocol, and so far, no suspicious object has been detected,” the official said.
Technical experts also examined the aircraft to ensure there were no safety concerns, even as regular operations at the Ahmedabad airport continued without disruption.
Authorities added that a final decision regarding the aircraft’s onward journey to Hyderabad will be taken once all security procedures and mandatory clearances are completed.
