PTC News Desk: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched raids at 17 locations spanning seven states today as part of its ongoing investigation into the Bengaluru prison radicalisation case.

The search operations targeted sites linked to suspects involved in the case, which has been under investigation since October. Originally initiated by the Bengaluru City Police in July 2023, the case gained momentum after the discovery of arms, ammunition, hand grenades, and walkie-talkies in the possession of seven accused individuals. These items were seized during a gathering at the residence of one of the accused.

In October 2023, the NIA took over the investigation, uncovering connections between the accused and T Naseer, who has been serving a life sentence in Bengaluru's Central Prison since 2013. It was revealed that Naseer had established contact with the other suspects during their incarceration in Bengaluru Prison back in 2017.
