PTC Web Desk: A small aircraft operating an IndiaOne Air service from Rourkela to Bhubaneswar crashed in Odisha on Saturday, triggering an immediate emergency response from the local authorities. The reason behind the incident is yet to be established.

Preliminary information suggests that the nine-seater aircraft was carrying seven persons at the time of the crash — including six passengers and the pilot. The plane reportedly went down nearly 10 to 15 km from Rourkela.

Following reports of the crash, rescue and emergency teams rushed to the site. All passengers were evacuated and shifted to a nearby hospital for medical examination and treatment. Officials said their condition is being closely monitored.

Authorities concerned swung into action soon after the incident, while a team from the tourism department is expected to arrive from Bhubaneswar to assess the situation on the ground.

An investigation has been launched to ascertain the cause of the crash and the sequence of events leading up to it. Officials said clarity on the circumstances will emerge only after the completion of the probe.

Meanwhile, the district administration and other relevant agencies remain on high alert, with security measures and assistance arrangements put in place.
