Pak Armys trusted agent: Tahawwur Ranas startling revelations in NIA custody
Rana, who is in NIA custody in Delhi's Tihar Jail, told the Mumbai Crime Branch during questioning that he and his friend and aide David Coleman Headley had several training sessions with Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba.
PTC News Desk: Tahawwur Hussain Rana, one of the key conpirators of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks has made some startling revelations to Mumbai Crime Branch, saying that he was a trusted agent of the Pakistan Army and was in Mumbai during the 2008 attacks.
Rana, who is in NIA custody in Delhi's Tihar Jail, told the Mumbai Crime Branch during questioning that he and his friend and aide David Coleman Headley had several training sessions with Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Rana said he inspected places like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and believed that the 26/11 attacks were carried out in collaboration with Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
Rana also revealed that he was also sent by the Pakistani Army to Saudi Arabia during the Khaleej war. After the interrogation, the Mumbai police plans to arrest Rana and take him into the custody.
The Army Days
During the interrogation, Rana revealed that after completing his MBBS from the Army Medical College in Pakistan's Rawalpindi, he was commissioned as Captain doctor in the Pakistani Army in Quetta.
However he was declared a desserted after his prolonged absence from the duty due to his abnormal health condition. He developed pulmonary edema that causes fluid buildup in the lungs
Rana has said that the Pakistani military establishment, which backed the terrorists, trusted him and also sent him on a secret mission to Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War.
