BJP leader Radhika Khera criticised Shama's remarks and accused the party of body shaming and disrespecting a World Cup winner.
PTC News Desk: A massive row erupted after Congress leader Shama Mohamed issued sharp criticism for Indian Cricket captain Rohit Sharma while fat shaming him and calling him fat "fat for a sportsman" and branding his captaincy the "most unimpressive" in the country's history.
"Rohit Sharma is fat for a sportsman! Need to lose weight! And ofcourse the most unimpressive Captain India has ever had!" she wrote on her X account.
Congress leader's remarks sparked controversy and drew backlash particularly from BJP and cricket fraternity. Her remarks came after Rohit was dismissed for 15 runs off 17 balls in yesterday’s Champions Trophy match against New Zealand, which India won by 44 runs. With their win, India marched into the semi-finals, where they will take on Australia in a high-stakes showdown on March 4.
BJP leader Radhika Khera criticised Shama's remarks and accused the party of body shaming and disrespecting a World Cup winner.
"Congress should worry about its own sinking dynast before taking cheap shots at India's pride!" she said.
