RSS chief to attend Subhash Chandra Bose birth anniv in Kolkata on Jan 23

New Delhi, January 16: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose which is scheduled at Shaheed Minar ground in Kolkata on 23 January, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat will address a meet. 

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will be participating in a programme of the organization on the occasion of the 126th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. The programme will be organised at the Shaheed Minar ground in Kolkata.


RSS chief will address the programme organised by Sangh, Sangh chief will deliver important message on sensitive issues like amended citizenship law, and birth control bill. The preparations for the upcoming event are going on in full swing.

According to the sources, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will talk about the ideologies of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, his vision, and how he fought for the country. Thousands of volunteers from across the state will participate in the programme. It is expected that Bhagwat to arrive in Calcutta on January 18.

Netaji was born to advocate Janakinath Bose in Odisha's Cuttack on January 23, 1897, he went on to play a key role in the freedom movement. Bose is also known for establishing the Azad-Hind-Fauj.

While there is controversy over Bose's death in a plane crash in Taipei on August 18, 1945, the Central government had in an RTI in 2017 confirmed that he had died in the incident.
