Wrestlers' protest: Top Indian wrestlers protesting against Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh have given an ultimatum to the government, threatening to boycott the Asian Games this year if their demands are not met.

“We will participate in Asian Games only when all these issues will be resolved,” said wrestler Sakshi Malik on Saturday.

"You can't understand what we're going through mentally each day", she added.

Notably, Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia and other protesting wrestlers held a Mahapanchayat with Khap leaders in Haryana's Sonipat on Saturday. Ace wrestler Punia stated that the grapplers will share the details of their discussions with the government with the Khap leaders at the Mahapanchayat.

In the most recent development, the Delhi police took a woman wrestler to the residence of WFI president Brij Bhushan Singh "to recreate the scene and recall the places where she faced harassment."

"At 1.30 pm women officers took the woman wrestler to Brij Bhushan's official residence in Delhi. They were there for half an hour. They asked her to recreate the scene and recall the places where she faced harassment," a news agency reported.

The wrestlers had previously encountered police, who detained them for "breaching the law and order in the capital." This occurred on the day of the new Parliament's inauguration. The wrestlers staged a march in order to conduct a women's maha panchayat near the parliament building.
