Another man arrested in Gujarat for espionage, shared information on BSF, IAF
PTC News Desk: The Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has arrested another suspected spy from the Kutch border area. The accused has been identified as Sahdev Singh Gohil who is a resident of Gujarat and was reportedly in contact with Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and had been supplying sensitive information. He has reportedly shared details about certain sensitive locations in Gujarat.
The ATS has brought the accused to Ahmedabad for further interrogation.
Gujarat ATS SP K Siddharth said that they had received credible inputs suggesting Gohil was sharing details related to the BSF and IAF with Pakistani agent.
Upon questioning, Gohil revealed that he came across a woman Aditi Bharadwaj in Whatsapp in 2023 and after a while he came to know that she was a Pakistani agent. She then asked Gohil to send pictures and videos of BSF and IAF facilities especially newly constructed or under-construction locations.
It is learned from the investigation that the Whatsapp account linked with Bhardwaj was being operated from Pakistan. The latest arrest follows apprehention of 11 people involved in espionage in multiple states as part of natiowide crackdown.
One of the most notable arrests was that of Jyoti Malhotra, a travel vlogger from Haryana, who was detained for allegedly leaking classified information. The group of accused also included students, a security guard, civilians, and an app developer. In total, 11 individuals were arrested across three states—Haryana, Punjab, and Uttar Pradesh.
According to police, a court on Thursday extended the custody of 33-year-old YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra by four days as investigations continue into espionage allegations.
