Scared of Epstein Files: Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi jabs PM Modi over absence in Lok Sabha
Gandhi's remarks follow reports of circulating from Epstein Files that made references to PM Modi and his official visit to Israel.
PTC News Desk: Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi took on Thursday took a sharp dig at government over Prime Minister's absence during Lok Sabha proceedings, further questioning whether it was avoiding issues raised by the Opposition.
“Is this a way to talk about anyone? He should be allowed to speak. What are they scared of — that he will quote from a book? Or are they scared of the Epstein files? Or that we will question them about the India–US deal due to which farmers will suffer?” she asked.
Gandhi's remarks follow reports of circulating from Epstein Files that made references to PM Modi and his official visit to Israel. However the government has dismissed the claims calling them baseless and contemptible.
Earlier in the day, as Parliament reconvened amid ongoing protests, the Rajya Sabha saw heated exchanges and repeated interruptions, along with controversy over the cancellation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled address in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
During the discussion, Nadda alleged that the Opposition was intentionally disrupting House proceedings. He said they had prevented the House from functioning and rejected claims that democracy was under threat. He also urged them to reflect within their own party, saying democratic matters should be handled in a democratic manner and warning against allowing the party to be controlled by “a naive child.”
Responding to the remarks, Rajya Sabha Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge accused the government of stifling debate and not allowing Opposition leaders to speak in the Lok Sabha.
